Kindler Chase

I’m Kindler Chase, Distinguished Engineer and the voice behind pragmat.ai.

For over two decades, I’ve built enterprise systems that survive contact with reality. I’ve navigated the cloud migration wave, the microservices transition, and now the GenAI integration challenge. Each inflection point taught me the same lesson: the gap between prototype and production never shrinks, but experienced hands know how to bridge it.

Current Work

My current focus is Self-Correcting RAG with Iterative Validation - an approach to retrieval that builds reliability through continuous refinement. While others chase perfect embeddings, I focus on systems that get better over time. It’s the difference between quick wins and lasting value.

On GenAI

GenAI is powerful because it amplifies experience. Twenty years of architectural patterns, debugging instincts, and system design principles become more valuable, not less. It’s having a pair programmer who can iterate through solutions at machine speed while you guide with human judgment - but only if you know which solutions will fail at scale.

What I Do

I write for engineering leaders navigating GenAI adoption, sharing what production systems teach about technology transitions. Not with revolutionary promises or buzzword frameworks, but with practical guidance from someone who knows the difference between demos that impress and implementations that survive Monday morning. The patterns are predictable once you’ve seen enough tools promise to change everything. What matters is knowing which promises are real and which are just good marketing.

As one colleague put it: “Pairing with Kindler is like having a cheat code.”

// Disclaimer: Cheat codes void warranty if used in production
